Preparing for Christ’s Coming

In this passage of Scripture, John is beginning a new section in which he is going to continue to develop the principles of fellowship that he introduced in the first 2 chapters: the principle of dealing with your sin, the principle of dealing with your Christian brothers and sisters, and the principle of dealing with your enemies, your flesh, the world, and the devil.  John begins to develop the principle of dealing with your sins by reminding you that Jesus could come back at any time!
