The Cancer of Sin

One small blood clot can become a life-threatening problem, and one small sin in your life, that you know about, can rob you of your spiritual vitality.  Known sin will rob you of the full, abundant life that Jesus wants you to have on this earth.  And that’s what John is trying to prevent at this point in this letter.  This is a book primarily about fellowship, rather than relationship.  It’s not a book about the way to God; it’s a book about walking with God.  It’s not about how to get to heaven; it’s about how to have a little bit of heaven on earth.  If you’re going to experience that kind of abundant life, you have to learn how to view sin as God does.
